With all the luminaires that I have developed for Zumtobel, the lighting technology was one of the most important if not the paramount consideration. There is no point in designing shapes formulaically.
Design must be photometrically optimal.

Light for food, beverages and tobacco

A feast for the eyes: to make sure lighting caters to the consumer’s taste across the whole range of food retail sectors, SOLINA offers a wide range of light sources and filters. SOLINA bathes fruit and vegetables in refreshing sunlight. A few metres away, it sets crisp bakery products skilfully centre stage. SOLINA is also ideal for both cheese and dairy products, as well as meat and cold meat specialities.

One design for every installation type

SOLINA elegantly increases the distance to the ceiling with either pendant rod or cord. Indirect light created by fluorescent lamps looks perfect to a drop height of up to 100 cm. Where the indirect component is provided by LEDs, we recommend a maximum distance of 20 cm to the ceiling.

The colour effect gains in intensity when the luminaire is installed directly on the ceiling. Any static colour from the RGB colour spectrum can be selected, as well as dynamically changed.

Technology plus choice

"We were aiming for a lower height, and we wanted to offer an indirect light component with advanced light sources. So we created a more or less completely new product. It is not easy to accommodate such a large number of light sources within a single unit. The reflectors also have several variations that should all fit perfectly. And we also carefully considered how the luminaire could be easily installed on the ceiling. Altogether, it's not just design work but an engineering feat."

SOLINA provides a memorable experience and presents goods and objects on display in the right light. The concept for success – translated into LED technology – is based on maintenance-free and focussed direct lighting. This makes the new pendant LED luminaire an efficient alternative to high-bay reflector luminaires fitted with 42 W fluorescent lamps.

Indirect light

Indirect light has established itself as the feel-good factor for lighting. It heightens the room visually and creates a friendly impression. With a floating sense of lightness, SOLINA sets decorative accents on the ceiling and thus on the interior design. The effect is particularly impressive with a ring of efficient LEDs. SOLINA with indirect LED light (RGB) is dimmable and features variable colours.

With the EMOTION touch panel, control and programming of dynamic colour changes becomes very simple. Intensity and colour as well as individual lighting scenes can be called up at the press of a button.
