The concept of balance harmonises both aspects of lighting: ELI, the indicator for lighting quality, takes into account light's physical and psychological impact on people. This is balanced by LENI, the indicator for lighting efficiency, i. e. the economic and ecological aspects of light. |

Humanergy Balance defines light as a tool which is as useful as possible to people but does not damage the environment. Achieving these objectives requires a perfect combination of scientific knowledge, technical innovation and an abundance of design ideas - as well as a sense of responsibility, and courage - on the part of architects, designers and building developers. |
