The right light boosts productivity

In one of the most extensive studies of its type carried out in Albany, New York, LRC researchers reached the following conclusions: 



"Light is important. We included major US companies in our study and found that there is a strong relationship between lighting, productivity and its overall benefits to the company."

  • Good light improves productivity
  • 29 to 31 % of people whose workplace was lit only by downlight
         systems rated them as unpleasant
  • 91 % of people felt that a system comprising direct and indirect lighting,
         wallwashers and dimmable lighting was pleasant
  • The facility to dim workplace lighting "improved motivation" and made
         users "less susceptible to fatigue and more alert" as well as
         "more accurate"
