Light that strikes a balance between supply and demand.

High turnover and satisfied customers are the yardstick by which successful retailing is judged. Achieving this often involves attracting the attention of busy passers-by. Used emotively and to full effect, light entices customers into the retail area and guides them through it. When merchandise is shown in the right light, it looks more attractive. Shopping is transformed into an experience - whether in a well-stocked supermarket or in an exclusive boutique with attentive sales assistants.

Deliberately directed lighting, luminaires with high light output ratios, and modern light sources that are inherently economical ensure necessary energy efficiency.

The lighting system for Hugo Boss is both impressive and efficient and fits the products on sale like a glove. Striking features of this lighting composition in Richmond, Virginia (USA) include: CARDAN SPIRIT spotlights with efficient Cdm-T metal halide lamps in warm light colours, and wallwashers with intermediate light colour for wall-mounted shelving.

In this COOP supermarket in Brescia in northern Italy, efficient HID lamps provide the ideal colour of light: fruit and vegetables, for example, are illuminated at a warm 2,550 Kelvin, whereas a cool 4,200 Kelvin is ideal for the fish counter.
