The essence of wide-area lighting The modular media luminaire stands for a new generation of lighting which utilises diffuse surface lighting as a flexible design element for ceilings, walls and objects. CIELOS is no custom-made item, and yet it's tailored to your respective needs. Easy to assemble and to install, with easy-to-maintain surfaces and also very interesting for smaller rooms. Even one single luminous module is able to create an emotional atmosphere, multiplying with each additional module. Each element is illuminated right up to its edges to ensure that their combination is able to form a luminous ceiling.

Pendant, ceiling- or wall-mounted  A CIELOS luminaire is able to master any situation, no matter how or where it is mounted. All versions can be used both individually or in a luminaire cluster. Good news for practitioners: all installation options require just a few steps to fix and install the luminaire. Pendant or surface mounting are the two options available for ceilings. When used as a vertical lighting element, CIELOS is mounted directly on the wall.

Installation and maintenance  Even if CIELOS luminous panels are assembled in a modular way, they cannot fail to impress with a uniform ceiling appearance and hardly visible joints between individual modules. Extra small but extremely strong metal clips firmly fix the glass panels to their frame in all installation positions. The optic and mounting frame are a sealed unit which is simply suspended from the safety steel cords for maintenance purposes. A rubber gasket between luminaire and ceiling ensures protection from dust and stray light.

CIELOS MONOCOLOR
The colour spot  CIELOS is more than just a technical tool for creating brightness. Wide-area lighting triggers emotions that we know from nature. Especially in shops, waiting rooms and entrance areas, white wide-area ambient lighting is a popular choice. If the monochrome luminaire is fitted with coloured lamps and colour filters, this will provide for extremely intensive accents. For instance, CIELOS modules in saturated colours attract passengers' attention or trigger emotions of participants in a meeting.

CIELOS MONOCOLOR
CIELOS Monocolor creates light in a static colour which is defined by the T16 lamp; extremely rich colours are achieved by using colour filters. The monochrome luminous modules are available in two sizes, both as switchable and dimmable versions. The 900 x 900 x 80 mm module is fitted with six fluorescent lamps, while the smaller module (600 x 600 x 80 mm) is designed for four lamps.

CIELOS MONOCOLOR
The colour of the monochrome CIELOS luminaire comes from the T16 fluorescent lamp. The dimmable modules can be operated using both standard momentary-action switches and dimmers as well as the EMOTION touch panel. A further argument: the CIELOS lighting module is also a feast for the eyes when switched off.

The EMOTION touch panel is a combined control and programming unit that is able to manage up to 128 CIELOS lighting units. Professional colour shows can be created, stored and called up via the touch panel.

CIELOS BICOLOR
Linear colour mix  A bicoloured colour line is defined by its two end points, the colour locations of the lamps. Each colour tone in between can be created using various dimming levels. If, for instance, white is combined with white, CIELOS will increase the level of activity in the conference room by providing a dynamic change from warm (2700 K) to cool light (6000 K), while in shops, CIELOS Bicolor is often used to combine intermediate ambient lighting with coloured contrast points.

CIELOS BICOLOR
CIELOS Bicolor allows to mix two colours. The two end points of the colour sequence are defined by the lamps (with or without coloured filters). If, for example, white and blue lamps are used, various dimming levels can be applied to create any colour hues between clear white and intense blue. The bicoloured module (900 x 900 x 150 mm) is fitted with 2 x 4 T16 fluorescent lamps.

The range of available colours between the two colour locations of the T16 fluorescent lamps with their colour filters is linear. If they are replaced, the colour line will shift as well. Mixed hues are generated by dimming the two differently coloured light sources. If, for instance, white lamps are dimmed to 90% and blue lamps to 20%, the CIELOS luminaire will shine light blue. The colours are mixed intuitively using the EMOTION touch panel, dimming of colour hues is also possible.

When it comes to individual requests for accents or emotional lighting, the sky's the limit. One significant detail: many conventional glass covers produce a greenish hue that makes the light appear sallow. Not so the high-quality single-layer safety glass used for the CIELOS luminaire, which transports brilliant colours right to the eye of the beholder.

CIELOS MULTICOLOR
In line with the principle of RGB colour mixing, CIELOS Multicolor generates millions of colour tones. There are hardly any limits to the interplay of colours and hues. It is possible to produce relaxing and harmonious lighting scenes as well as refreshing or eccentric ones. In addition to the T16 version, CIELOS Multicolor is also available as LED luminaire, each with module sizes of 900 x 900 x 150 mm and 600 x 600 x 150 mm.

CIELOS MULTICOLOR
Even though the technology of the LED module is fundamentally different from the T16 version, colour mixing follows the RGB principle in both versions. By mixing the three basic colours in various ratios, millions of colours can be created. Nevertheless, controlling and programming the luminaire is child's play. The EMOTION touch panel provides visualisation of the sequence of lighting scenes, literally turning it into a “touchable” script.

CIELOS MOVE
The CIELOS Move media luminaire is a presentation surface displaying dynamic sequences of videos, images and animations. Its technical lighting core consists of a matrix of LED pixels that is able to transcend the limits of individual modules when mounted in a cluster. The video control unit especially developed for CIELOS controls the predefined and customer-specific sequences on the two module sizes 900 x 900 x 150 mm and 600 x 600 x 150 mm.

CIELOS MOVE
All inclusive Preconfigured package solutions allow the quick and uncomplicated use of CIELOS Move. The plug-and-play package includes the luminaires, the video control unit and five video sequences. These animations have been optimised in their dimensions for the cluster format in which they are used. Other videos are available from Zumtobel. Furthermore, the ArtNet interface of the VCU allows the customer to run self-created sequences on Cielos Move.

As a standard, five video sequences are stored on the SD card. To run them, simply insert the card into the video control unit to call up the various videos using the control unit.
