Timelessly beautiful design for contemporary uses: PANOS III extends the possibilities of the functional and architectural downlight family. Now with improved modularity, increased energy efficiency, reduced installation depth, integrated sensors, coloured acoustic absorbers and a decorative pendant portfolio, PANOS III is also ideally equipped for the requirements of open collaboration zones in educational buildings and offices. In addition, its clean, unobtrusive design and outstanding quality of light with good glare limitation have been retained.

The PANOS product group has already received several awards for its groundbreaking design, including the iF product design award, the Red Dot Award and the GOOD DESIGN Award from the Chicago Athenaeum.

Unrivalled quality of light with maximum energy efficiency for every application: PANOS III delivers high-quality white light with excellent colour rendering (CRI > 90). This also includes saturated red tones (R9 > 50), which make human skin look particularly healthy and natural. 

Further benefits of the completely redesigned luminaire family include proven reflector technology, which ensures optimum light direction, optimum glare control (UGR 19) for maximum visual comfort and high luminous efficacy of up to 162 lm/W, which reduces energy requirements and costs.

Discreet, contemporary, future-proof: PANOS III illuminates outstanding architecture without pushing itself into the limelight. The clean design and minimalist style blend unobtrusively into the aesthetics of modern rooms. 

The wide range of installation options and colours ensures appealing variance in the room but still combines to create a harmonious overall picture: from recessed, semi-surface-mounted and surface-mounted to pendant, mounted on the ceiling or integrated into a track, from spotlights to flat wallwashers, PANOS III is a product family offering endless possibilities for functional and architectural lighting.

Retrofitting for sustainability: PANOS III is designed to be even more modular than before. All the components of the downlight can be easily replaced – for uncomplicated upgrades and sustainable lighting refurbishments. 

Zumtobel has also improved the circularity of the PANOS luminaire by using a “Made in Germany” polycarbonate (PC) heat sink with reduced CO2 emissions. The luminaire’s high luminous efficacy with low consumption (up to 162 lm/W at CRI 80) is also unbeatably sustainable.

As small as a 10 euro cent coin, but effective over a large area: PANOS III luminaires in sizes R150 and R200 can be equipped with an optional integrated sensor on the LED board, which is hidden behind the diffuser and provides access to all the conceivable functions of a smart lighting and building management system. 

From daylight controls, presence detection and maintenance to area management and energy optimisation, thanks to sensor technology with the D4i standard from Zumtobel and its sister brand Tridonic, PANOS III creates the interface to the Internet of Things (IoT) – data-based lighting management for the buildings of tomorrow.

Smart design, easy to install: the separately pluggable driver, the improved mounting ring for different ceiling thicknesses of 1–100 mm and the easy-to-use bayonet fitting of the PANOS III recessed luminaires enable simple, step-by-step installation – depending on the construction stage. With track mounting via TECTON or 3-phase track, PANOS III can also be used in dynamic environments or in rooms with baffle ceilings: flexibility and zoning as design principles for open, collaborative office spaces.
