The emotional effect of light
Zumtobel uses integral lighting solutions to create lighting scenes that make it possible to experience the interplay between light and architecture in all its diverse complexity. The combined use of luminaires, lighting management and emergency lighting systems is geared towards the architecture of a building and the particular application situation.

Zumtobel’s applied research attaches particular importance to energy efficiency. Daylight-based lighting control and luminaires with higher light output ratios produce more light and brightness than standard solutions, assuming identical light sources are used.

5-year guarantee
Zumtobel is famous for its outstanding design and optimum quality – and its 5-year guarantee is testament to this.  As a world-leading lighting company, Zumtobel offers a five-year guarantee on its entire luminaire portfolio, including ballasts and control gear elements. The guarantee and its extension option give the customer a uniquely high degree of security. Only certain parts are excluded from the five-year guarantee; for details please refer to the file “Guarantee conditions”. The guarantee is valid from the time of delivery.

Lamp phase-out 2023
Many conventional light sources may no longer be put on the market due to their high energy consumption. This is required by EU Regulation 2019/2020/EU. The thin T5 lamps (diameter approx. 16 mm) used in many lighting systems will also be phased out next year. Only about 15 years ago, they were gradually replaced by the increased efficiency of LED solutions in the broad mass of general lighting.

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
Zumtobel makes sure a product's impact on the environment is transparent. Zumtobel was the first company in the lighting industry to publish environ­mental product declarations in compliance with the international ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards. EPDs are prepared by Zumtobel in compliance with a process verified by independent auditors­. A filter function in the online product catalogue can be used to quickly find the EPDs that have already been made available; others will be prepared readily upon request.

The environ­mental product declaration lists in detail all traces left by a product in the environment over its entire life cycle: which raw materials are processed? How much energy is required for production, transport and waste disposal, how much is reclaimed through recycling? This information is relevant not only for environmental certifications such as LEED or ÖGNI; it is also a sound basis that helps green-minded customers make their decisions.

Lighting solutions by Zumtobel are characterised by an integral approach. The company caters for customers' requirements and users' needs individually in various application areas. Hence, perfect lighting quality meets maximum energy efficiency. From application-oriented lighting design through to the use of innovative light sources and luminaires as well as intelligent lighting management, Zumtobel makes a valuable contribution to a building's life cycle assessment and actively supports public and private building owners during environmental certification of their buildings.
