Trunking
TECTON is the world’s first continuous-row lighting system to have an 11-pole current conducting section built into the trunking. This means that even today the system is ready to meet the requirements of tomorrow. All functions such as power supply, lighting control and connection to the emergency lighting system are integrated into this multi-functional trunking unit. The luminaires can be positioned flexibly, and the system can be adjusted to structural changes at any time. Without any major effort, TECTON caters to a variety of lighting requirements - at the time of installation and also whenever a change is needed. TECTON trunking is and always remains the functional basis. Only the lighting modules, light sources or optics are replaced or added, if required.

Mounting options Cord suspension with Clix mechanism
There's nothing as easy as mounting TECTON trunking. The smart connecting link between wall or ceiling and trunking is an ingeniously contrived fastening spring. This spring can be fixed to the trunking without the use of any tools by exerting slight pressure, and it can also be moved as required. Pendant height adjustment is also entirely tool-free.

Possible feed-in and feed-out points TECTON meets customer-specific requirements and general conditions by providing numerous possible feed-in and feed-out points. For continuous-row systems longer than 50 m, we recommend an additional feed-in point. TECTON central feeders are perfect for this purpose, in particular since they do not visually interrupt the continuous-row system.
Please note: 28/54 W and 35/49/80 W fully cover the feeder and feed-out (not for ONLITE emergency luminaires). In the case of 14/24 W, TECTON Tetris and spotlight/high-press¬ure modules, this is not possible due to short distances between rotary toggles.

/ node connectors
Using various node connectors, the TECTON continuous-row lighting system can be assembled and combined in a myriad of ways, fully meeting the respective requirements in terms of design and lighting technology. TECTON L-, T- and X-connectors open up additional options for creative design using light. Thus, the structures themselves become integral parts of the interior design. The electrical engineer will define the wiring sequence via the node connectors on site, depending on the application requirements.
Calculating axial dimensions with node connectors The axial dimension can be calculated very easily: two connectors together give 0.5 m. The trunking units are also provided in increments of 0.5 m. Therefore the axial dimension is always the trunking length plus 0.5 m.

LED
Trunking units and luminaires are all that is needed to create a continuous-row LED lighting system. Even where various different distribution characteristics are placed next to each other, TECTON LED appears as a consistent continuous-row system, without any visual interruption or different reflectors. As the LED system is 100 % compatible with the entire TECTON product range, T16 and T26 luminaires already in place can be replaced easily and without any tools by the new continuous-row LED system. Thanks to an audible and visible fastening system, the luminaire and the pre-wired 11-pole trunking are quickly and securely connected.
TECTON
LED
Uniform design: TECTON LED is an "all-in-one" solution: the batten luminaire, light source and reflector are combined and integrated into one product. The product design developed by Billings Jackson Design is pared down and unobtrusive, making the room appear calm and the ceiling uncluttered. In this way, a 100 % consistent continuous-row LED system can be implemented for the first time.
Lower costs: TECTON LED cannot fail to impress with a service life of 50,000 hours at 70 % luminous flux and a lighting efficiency of up to 80 lm/W. This provides clear economic benefits: less energy consumption, less maintenance effort and less time out. This is good for the environment and enhances the company's positive image vis-à-vis its customers.

Top lighting quality: colour rendering of RA >80 and two colour temperatures of 3000 K and 4000 K provide excellent lighting quality. This increases the employees' productivity, improves safety at the workplace, and makes it easier for people to find their way in the building.
Highly future-proof: the LED is the most innovative lighting technology and has huge potential for the future. This means that TECTON LED provides maximum investment security and is well prepared to meet the current and future environmental regulations of various states and also of the European Union, but also for the various subsidies granted for energy-efficient building and lighting solutions.

4 optics – uniform design
Application-specific lighting solution: four different optics have been developed to meet the most diverse requirements in the "Presentation & Retail" as well as "Industry & Engineering" applications. Only with these sophisticated optics does the LED really show its strengths. They provide for optimised horizontal and vertical illuminance levels to meet a wide variety of requirements. It is no longer necessary to use reflectors, as the light is directed in the optic!

Less installation time
(Audible and palpable toggle resistance - snaps in) TECTON LED is 100 % compatible with the entire TECTON product range. Here, too, the following familiar principles apply: "Plug&Play" and no-tool installation ensure maximum timing efficiency. With TECTON LED, installation is now even faster: install trunking, snap in TECTON LED, done.

Wide Beam
The Wide Beam optic is equally suitable for decorative and technical tasks. Its medium wide-angle light distribution is perfectly suitable for lighting shelf surfaces and corridors. Areas where there is no shelving, such as production areas, for instance, are also illuminated uniformly.
Luminous flux: up to 5050 lm
Narrow beam
Developed especially for use in industry and engineering, the narrow-beam optic ensures uniform, efficient lighting of vertical shelf fronts. With a maximum mounting height of approx. 18 metres, rooms with medium and high ceilings are illuminated perfectly.
Luminous flux: up to 5000 lm
Double Wallwasher
The Double Wallwasher optic presents itself at its best in presentation and retail areas. Its symmetrical light distribution focusses on shelf surfaces; corridor areas are illuminated with less intensity. In this way, people's attention is directed increasingly towards the goods on display.
Luminous flux: up to 4900 lm
Wallwasher
The asymmetrical beam pattern has been developed especially for presentation and retail areas with shelves set up at one side of the room. An unobtrusive reflector, which can be easily clicked into place without the use of any tools, selectively sets the goods displayed centre stage.

A conventional supermarket uses T16 continuous-row systems to illuminate its shelving. A direct comparison with TECTON LED Wide Beam makes the strengths of the practically maintenance-free LED solution obvious: taken over a period of 10 years, the total costs of ownership are identical – with 66% more light and increased illuminance at floor level (up from 300 lx to 500 lx). The 27% reduction in energy costs is another persuasive argument in favour of using LED lighting in an ecologically responsible business.

Conventional lighting for manufacturing areas is a T16 continuous-row system. If, however, the decision is made to opt for a TECTON LED Wide Beam continuous-row system, it is not just lighting quality that improves markedly. Thanks to higher light output ratio levels, fewer luminaires are needed and energy consumption drops by 40%. Over a ten-year period, the costs of the continuous-row LED system are actually 10% less than that of T16 lighting.

T16/T26 continuous-row system
TECTON meets a large variety of lighting requirements and makes extensive allowance for the particular requirements of specific visual tasks. The emphasis is always on economic efficiency – not only in terms of energy consumption, but also in terms of flexibility. There is a very wide range of luminaires which offer different levels of performance. Factors such as the number of lamps and the ability to choose spacings as required allow extra alternative choices. Therefore TECTON is the ideal choice for economical solutions in industry and engineering where the lighting must match the task in hand. TECTON is equally ideal for presentation and retail.

T16/T26 continuous-row system
T16/T26 fluorescent lamp comparison In comparison with thicker T26 lamps (diameter: 26 mm), T16 lamps (diameter: 16 mm) show several different proper¬ties that must be taken into account for appli¬cation.
Luminous flux/temperature behaviour As with all fluorescent lamps, the lamp’s luminous flux is dependent on tempera¬ture. Maximum luminous flux is achieved at optimum ambient temperature, with in¬creasing losses occurring at higher and lower temperatures.
The reason: the T16’s cool spot is typically at the end of the tube near the area where the manufacturer’s printed information is, rather than in the middle of the lamp. In general, nominal luminous flux is specified for an ambient temperature of 25°C. Hence, the maximum value for T16 is higher than this nominal value. This is why a luminaire’s operating efficiency level can be higher than “1”.
TECTON
T16/T26 continuous-row system
Optimal lamp arrangement for T16/T26 light sources
Because of its central cool spot, lamp arrangement is not critical in the case of T26 but allowance must be made for special factors in the case of T16. In a continuous-row system, maxi¬mum total lumi¬nous flux is achiev¬ed when the printed infor¬mation tags are as close as possible to each other. In cool environments, it may also make sense to arrange the lamps differently.

Lamps overlap several centimetres with the TETRIS arrangement. This makes it possible to compensate for the dark spots at the ends of lamps. It is advisable to align all the lamps identically in order to exploit uniformity to full effect. Turn the last lamp(s) so that the manufacturer’s printed information faces inwards.

Lighting modules
TECTON No other system makes it so easy for lighting designers and building developers to handle so many different lighting tasks using just one consistent system. There is a wide range of optics and reflectors even for the classic versions fitted with fluorescent lamps. There are even several ranges of spotlights and high-pressure modules which produce the kind of accent lighting that is needed in retail spaces. The product line also includes escape sign luminaires and emergency luminaires as well as industrial luminaires with special protection. All these lighting modules have one thing in common – outstanding thermal management and high light output ratios, which lay the foundation for an integral energy-efficient solution.

Reflectors
With a variety of reflectors that meet specific requirements, TECTON covers the most varied application areas. They distribute the light according to requirements – from extremely narrow-beam to wide-angle; asymmetrical wallwashers and shop reflectors complete the product range. The reflectors focus on lighting tasks in industry and engineering as well as for presentation and retail. Thanks to CLIX and plug-and-play mechanisms, costs can be saved already during installation. If required, louvres and semi-specular reflector optics can be fitted later as well.

Louvres
In order to fulfil specific requirements in terms of lighting quality, the TECTON continuous-row lighting system includes an extensive range of louvre modules. For example, there are louvres with an indirect component to brighten up the ceiling, which creates a pleasant atmosphere in the room. Other louvres are specially designed to meet the exacting technical lighting requirements associated with DSE workstations. When it comes to easy installation using CLIX and plug-and-play mechanisms (also in retrospect, if required), the TECTON louvres show their professional skills as well.

Spotlights
By allowing integration of Zumtobel's VIVO and LIVIANO spot¬light ranges, the TECTON continuous-row light¬ing system is able to create im¬pressive lighting accents while fulfilling all other tasks as well. Thus, the lighting requirements for shops and retail spaces – ranging from homo¬geneous illumination to impressive lighting effects using high-pre¬cision reflectors – can be mastered with high efficiency. Here, too, installation is considerably facilitated by CLIX and plug-and-play mechanisms.

The way TECTON interacts with ONLITE emergency lighting systems ensures optimum lighting and orientation, even in the event of a power failure. In addition to making it possible to use every general lighting luminaire for emergency lighting, ONLITE offers an extensive package of emergency and escape sign luminaires with TECTON adapters. To ensure supply in case of power failure, a wide range of separate-battery, group-battery and central-battery systems are available, as well as two independent emergency lighting circuits in the TECTON trunking. Emphasis is placed on integrating emergency lighting into general lighting under ideal visual and functional conditions. All systems provide a central monitoring capability and the ability to control each individual luminaire. General lighting and emergency lighting are combined in a single highly functional, integrative lighting solution.

LED emergency luminaires for escape route lighting according to EN 1838. Maximum luminaire spacing of up to 23 m > 1 lx
Using a power LED and three sophisticated optics, RESCLITE paves the way for a new era of emergency lighting. Thanks to maximum efficiency and perfect light distribution, a few luminaires are enough to provide emergency lighting in conformity with relevant standards. The luminaires can be installed at mounting heights ranging from 2.2 to 7 m! And yet the powerful LED package requires a minimum of energy. The luminaire’s installed load is only 5 W, in non-maintained mode it is even as low as 1.5 W. Accordingly, only small-scale supply and cable systems are necessary. RESCLITE requires amazingly little design effort. Based on the mounting height, the necessary luminaire spacing can be determined by referring to simple tables. Another unique feature is that the luminaires can be mounted, installed and maintained very easily without any tools at all.

Daylight-based control
Most energy can be saved by integrating a DALI light sensor directly into the TECTON trunking. The daylight entering the room is continuously monitored by this sensor, and – in combination with the appropriate LUXMATE control modules – these measuring values provide the basis for adding just the necessary amount of artificial lighting that is required to ensure the desired level of illuminance.
TECTON
Lighting management – sensors
Presence detector
The TECTON presence detector combines energy saving with high user convenience. It ensures a sufficient level of brightness whenever people or vehicles enter a room or specific areas and, after a defined period of time, automatically switches to a light level of 10%. In terms of mounting height, the presence detector is also highly flexible: it detects movements from heights ranging from 2.5 m to 10 m. Its installation does not require addressing or commissioning. However, connection to a bus system is not possible.
TECTON
Lighting management – sensors
IR multi-sensor with presence detection
To ensure that the lighting is operated at a level of 100% only if this level of brightness is actually required, the multi-sensor detects if persons are present and also accepts commands given via the IR-TOUCH infrared remote control. It is also possible to use the remote control for programming individual lighting scenes for presence and absence. The multi-sensor is designed for use with DALI-based LUXMATE lighting control systems such as DIMLITE, EMOTION and LITENET.
TECTON
Maintenance Control
Saving energy with Maintenance Control Lighting systems have to be overdimensioned in order to meet the minimum illuminance level stipulated in the relevant EN 12464 standard also during routine operation. Considerable surplus capacity is usually factored in because illuminance gradually drops throughout the service life of lamps due to luminaire and room soiling as well as lamp ageing. The LITENET lighting management system’s Maintenance Control function controls lamps to ensure that they always produce the required illuminance levels. This means that just the amount of energy which is absolutely necessary is consumed. Higher nominal illuminance levels also make it possible to optimise maintenance intervals.
