For more than 50 years, Zumtobel has been developing innovative, custom lighting solutions that meet extremely exacting requirements in terms of ergonomics, economic efficiency and environmental compatibility and also deliver aesthetic added value.
As an innovation leader, Zumtobel supplies an extensive range of premium luminaires and lighting control systems for various professional building lighting application areas:
International leader
Zumtobel has an international customer presence thanks to its own sales organisations in 23 countries and commercial agencies in more than 50 other countries. The company has its roots in Vorarlberg but sets great store by international contacts in order to maintain its worldwide network of specialists and design partners in the lighting sector.
The emotional effect of light
Zumtobel uses integral lighting solutions to create lighting scenes that make it possible to experience the interplay between light and architecture in all its diverse complexity. The combined use of luminaires, lighting management and emergency lighting systems is geared towards the architecture of a building and the particular application situation.
Light creates a sense of well-being
Zumtobel conducts research into the health-promoting effects of light and makes it ever easier to exploit these effects in order to provide people with the best possible lighting quality. Zumtobel’s applied research attaches particular importance to energy efficiency. Daylight-based lighting control and luminaires with higher light output ratios produce more light and brightness than standard solutions, assuming identical light sources are used.

This certification is recognised by IQ Net partners in over 30 countries.

Life Cycle Assessment
Consideration for people and the environment is evident everywhere in Zumtobel. The integrated life-cycle assessment approach is used to quantify and implement the company's sustainability objectives. The energy balances of luminaires are measured and analysed over their entire life cycle: from procurement of raw materials, manufacturing and transport, through to use and disposal.
The results of a life cycle assessment are set out in the form of an environmental data sheet for every luminaire and are used to make further product improvements.
Sustainability within the Zumtobel Group
The Zumtobel Group has committed itself to its THROUGH LIGHT, WE CARE sustainability strategy.

Since April 2010, Zumtobel, the internationally leading luminaire manufacturing company, has offered a 5-year guarantee on its entire product range. By doing so, Zumtobel is highlighting its pioneering role in the fields of innovation, design and quality. This voluntarily extended five-year guarantee covers Zumtobel’s entire luminaire portfolio, including ballast or control gear. Only wear parts such as conventional light sources or emergency lighting batteries are excluded. In the case of LED luminaires, LEDs are also covered by the guarantee.
This important initiative gives customers the peace of mind of knowing that they can rely on their Zumtobel lighting solution well into the future.
This guarantee is given subject only to the proviso that the customer must register the relevant installation or building online.
» To online registration for 5-year guarantee

What is special about eco+ assessment is its integral approach which takes all system components and the lighting quality of a luminaire into account. For eco+ assessment, there are three relevant aspects: energy efficiency, environmental relevance and application quality. The ambitious eco+ product label surpasses all existing national and international guidelines by specifying a 20% energy consumption reduction. Architects, designers and installers can now identify products that are especially resource-efficient at a glance. And they can make this distinction within a product family because the eco+ label is awarded to a specific item.
For detailed information about the eco+ classification scheme, please contact Dipl.-Ing. Peter Dehoff:
